The penultimate Tuesday of the Veterans 10-Man League season produced these tables

With one more round of results in the 10-Man League there are still many unresolved title, promotion and relegation places to be finalised. The colourful set of tables below sets out who can, who has and who won't as we search for the Division-by-Division stories waiting to be told.

Follow the colour code to see who has already been promoted, who are the Division Champions and who is still in danger of being relegated. Take the first table for example which is Division 1 where six teams, all highlighted in red, can still be relegated. That is half of the teams in Division 1 go into the last day of the season knowing they are in a real relegation battle where one bad result can seal their fate. The Elland C&BC v Cowcliffe clash the key result that will set the target for the other teams involved in avoiding the relegation trapdoor.

In Division 2 Denby Dale, with a 159 'Aggregate For' lead over their nearest challengers, need only one point to capture the second promotion place when they go to Waterloo on the last day. Only in Division 2 is the relegation fight over with Hemplow A and Almondbury Lib already doomed to drop a level but in Divisions 3 and 4 there are four teams who will have the squeaky-bum time still to come.

In Division 3 it is backs-against-the-wall time for the bottom two clubs, Skel Windmill and Paddock I&C, who face each other with the loser almost certainly going down although Holmfirth B will need to win their home match against Lindley Lib B to avoid becoming embroiled in Aggregate For details to determine their fate. Linthwaite Hall need a last day haul of three points to secure the second promotion place when they travel to Kirkheaton C&BC. There are easier places to go, but they may be aided by Brockholes A who will do well to claim a big enough win over 4th-placed Golcar Lib B to mount a serious threat to the Linfit team's promotion hopes.

Division 4 threatens to produce the tightest title finish with Marsh Lib A and Kirkheaton Con A level on points and only an Aggregate For difference of just 6 points between them. Both teams have final day away fixtures with the lingering threat from third-placed Thongsbridge is ever evident as they have home advantage over Marsh Lib A knowing that an 8-1 win, maybe even less if the Kirkheaton don't perform, will secure them promotion. Brockholes B are already relegated from Division 4 but still have a big say in who goes down with them. They go to play Ravensknowle Park who need to match Lockwood Con's result to be sure of staying up.

The two promotion places in Division 5 are already reserved for the B teams from Netherton Con and Broad Oak but with a 2-point lead for the Netherton boys and a less daunting home match against wooden-spoon candidates Greenhead Park they are favourites to add the Champions title to their promotion achievement. An 8-1 home win will secure that outcome regardless of how the Broad Oak side perform. One point separates the bottom three teams from which the wooden-spoon recipients will probably come although with the bottom two teams level on points and meeting each other, the stakes will be raised in the Dalton versus Almondbury BC B curtain-call.
