Review of the results in the 6-Man League for matches played on Monday 26 May
A new feature of the weekly match reports is a listing of the top team and individual performances of the past week.

The top two teams in Division 1 both had tremendous 7-0 whitewash home wins to ensure that there were no changes at the top of the table. These were the only two 7-0 scorelines from Monday's 19 matches. That also means that Clayton West A became the first team to have two 7-0 wins this season. New Mill A were on the wrong end of the 7-0 result against Marsh United A and that means that New Mill A became the first team to both inflict and endure a whitewash outcome in the top division this season. Waterloo being the other team in four to record a 7-0 win this season.
That 7-0 defeat of Shepley A by Clayton West A saw the Shepley team drop two places to 7th which is now 13 points off the pace at the top. New Mill A drop back into the relegation places as a result of that defeat to Marsh United A coupled with Golcar C&BC's surprise 4-3 away win at Skel Windmill A which included a 94-94 drawn aggregate and it was a first win anywhere for the Golcar team this term.
Slaithwaite needed an 88-85 aggregate win to steal the points 4-3 from visitors Milnsbridge A and Waterloo kept the top two within range after a 6-1 home win over Netherton Con A. Brockholes A stay bottom after a 1-6 reversal away at Thongsbridge A who move up from 8th to 4th as a result.

A good Division 2 home win for Holmfirth A over 3rd placed Gocar Lib cemented their position at the top of the table and extended their lead over 2nd-placed Lindley Lib A to 5 points. However the Lindley side will be happy to have claim to the only away win in the division this week and won their tricky away fixture at Crosland Moor and they have their own 5-points lead over their nearest rival Lockwood Con.
Lockwood Con beat Thongsbridge B 6-1 who stay well adrift at the foot of the table and are one of three teams on the same 21 points mark along with Broad Oak and Golcar Lib who both have a match in hand over the three teams above them. A welcome return to a home fixture and winning ways for the Broad Oak team as they overcame Longwood by 5-2 to retain their interest in the promotion race.
Paddock I&C collected their first win of the season with a good 5-2 home win over Marsh Lib A which is a setback for the visitors and sees them drop into the bottom half of the table.

Almondbury Lib smashed their nearest rivals for the Division 3 title with a 6-1 away win at Marsh Lib B who hang on to 2nd place but are now a massive 13 points adrift of the leaders. The next 5 teams are separated by only 3 points led by Denby Dale after a 6-1 home win over relegation-threatened Holmfirth B. Bottom-of-the-table Hemplow A went down 2-5 at home to Linthwaite Hall who move into 4th place level on points with 3rd placed Denby Dale and having played a match less than the three teams above them.
Primrose Hill Lib were without a fixture this week and drop from 3rd to 6th on the same 20 points total mark alongside Milnsbridge B who move ahead of Greenhead Park A wh they beat 6-1. Lindley Lib B sneak past the Elland C&BC team they defeated 5-2 on Monday.

With the top two teams in Division 5 having identical 6-1 wins this Monday it means nothing has changed at the top of the table. Hemplow B retain their 7-points lead over Netherton Con B after a win at Brockholes C as the Netherton Con B side recorded a home win over bottom team Meltham.
New Mill B had a good 5-2 home win over Marsh United B and passed them in the table as a result whilst Clayton West B's commendable 5-2 away success at Shepley B saw them leap 5 places from 10th to 5th. Everything could change again after Thursday's catch-up fixture between Thongsbridge C and Skel Windmill B especially for the latter who have played two games less than most of their rivals and have only lost 1 in 3 to date and that was against the leaders so they still have aspirations of becoming involved in the promotion race..
