Peter Muff looks at the decline in attendance at some of the town's and county's top bowling occasions, a trend that has continued from June 1999 when Peter's report was first published.

His article goes on to examine the reasoning behind the drop in interest which had not been matched by a drop in participating numbers at that time, although that was all about to change. Even the first introduction of a Sunday date for a local final hadn't combated the decline, in fact, it had just accelerated it.

His article goes on to look at the financial implications of reducing attendances and suggests an alternative funding mechanism for the future of our sport. Always a good read.
