Finals Day of the 10th Anniversary (and probably last) staging of the Weston Park Trophy is next Saturday (4th April) at Brockholes BC from 2.00pm. Plenty of local interest in the draw of the last sixteen as added below. This is one of the few open competitions that has the main aim of raising money to benefit a great cancer charity.
This year's Finals Day lineup promises to bring top quality bowling to the Holme Valley once again. This year we've had debutants getting through, and big upsets in qualifying. Only two previous winners in the mix and almost half of the field being first time finalists... this finals day is not one to be missed!
Not only that, this will be the last running of this competition for the foreseeable future. All the more reason to get down, watch, support, and help us raise vital funds for charity.
PRIZE FUND Winner £600 - Runner-Up £400 - Semi-Finalist £150 - Quarter-Finalist £150 - Last 16 £75
The competition was started by the Sykes family after the passing of Paul Sykes and is staged in his memory. His son, Liam, is a bowler and he is the main lead in organising the competition. Paul's father was Dave Sykes who was an official of the Huddersfield Veterans League for many years and who passed away last year. Proceeds are in support of the Weston Park Cancer Charity
