Winter League
Preview of the Wednesday matches in Divisions 1 & 3
Division 1 Preview

With Thorpe Green A already declared the 2025 Champions there is only the runners-up position up for grabs at the top end of the table where any one of four teams can lay claim.
The remaining fixtures for all four contenders show that prime-placed Cowcliffe have the most difficult run-in to the end of season as they are the only top half team that has to play the Champions. Lower Hopton have the easiest end of season list on paper which could result in a second successive runners-up slot for them.

At the wrong end of the table two from three teams are competing to retain their top level status for next season with Meltham A and Lindley Lib A having to catch up 7 and 9 points respectively to challenge Kirkheaton Con A for the final safe position. That may seem like a big ask but with the Kirkheaton team having to play both Thorpe Green and Lower Hopton in their remaining two fixtures that may not be a forlorn target.
The contest for the Division 1 Top Bowler and the Founders Trophy that goes with it remains to be decided with three bowlers on the same 10 wins mark. Two matches left to play and should things remain tight after that then the 'Aggregate Difference' total will determine the outcome.

Division 3 Preview

It is the final day of the Division 3 season this Wednesday with Denby Dale needing 3 points from their last-day fixture with relegation-threatened Springwood A to clinch the title. Huddersfield Recreation Club A need a big last-day victory over Thorpe Green C to give a glimmer of hope of avoiding the big drop. Springwood A, Brockholes A and Thorpe Green C are all within one point of each other and all in danger of ending up in the second relegation place.
Trevor Atkinson may be facing relegation along with his Huddersfield Recreation Club colleagues but he has already claimed the Division 3 Top Bowler award with 10 wins from 13 matches played and he will receive the Dave Horsfall Cup for that achievement.
