Veterans Pairs KO hots up

The 2024 winners of the Veterans League Oairs Knock-Out retained their interest in the destination of the 2025 title when beating the MClusky brothers from Huddersfield Recreation Club. A 21-19 win for the Waterloo pair of Ian Lunn and Alan Stephenson has set up a Quarter-Final tie against the much-fancied Longwood pair of Ian Briggs and Andy Wike.

There were two former winning pairs in the top half of the draw but only one of them is still in the competition. Marsh United pair of Andy Carter and Steve Mallinson beat the Kirkheaton Cons pairing of Garry Senior and Tony Butterfield and have set up an interesting quarter-final tie against the Lowerhouses pair of Ashley Daykin and Andy Mitchell who saw off the two-times winners of this competition title Tim Poulter and Edwin Haigh from Clayton West.

Lots still to happen in this competition and some of that will occur in the quarter-finals which will be held at Almondbury Lib on Thursday 15 May with the draw below.
