The last qualifying night on Friday produced two more local players to complete the final eight for next Friday’s culmination for the top prize of £1200. Nathan Haigh of Crosland Moor and late substitute Neil Slattery were the successful pair. The two previous winners, Graeme Wilson and Jack Dyson both went out in the second round. With a change in air temperature as the sun went down, the pace on the green slowed down and caught out a few bowlers. The evening was blighted to a degree through three no-shows with Neil Slattery benefiting from that as a late replacement for one of them.
