Review of the results from Divisions 1&2 of the 10-Man League for Tuesday 26 August

Lowerhouses stretched their lead at the top of the Division 1 table to double figures after a 7-2 home win over Lindley Lib A. Longwood couldn't quite match that in winning 6-3 at home against Cowcliffe who claimed two of their points through 21-20 wins or the win could have been more emphatic.
Five of the six matches in the Division finished with the same 6-3 scoreline including Kirkheaton Con A who won at Lockwood Con A to go third. That dislodged Clayton West who lost at Meltham A. That win brought Meltham closer to safety but still 8 points behind third-from-bottom Lindley Lib A. Marsh United A beat bottom team Waterloo 6-3 to stay out of reach for now and Rastrick won the mid-table clash with Golcar Lib A again by the 6-3 score.

Netherton Con A's 6-3 home win over Elland C&BC had an impact on positions at both ends of the Division 2 table. That win lifted the Netherton team out of the relegation places for now. Elland WMC took full advantage to go 12 points clear at the top after an 8-1 home win over 4th placed Milnsbridge A and increasingly looking nailed on for the title and puts them in good heart for Thursday's Bistro KO Final.
That result damaged the Milnsbridge team's hopes of closing in on the second promotion place and that role now remains with Shepley who beat Lindley BC A 7-2 but are still 11 points off that coveted position. Broad Oak A slipped off the promotion pace when going down 3-6 at home to Almondbury BC A who join a group of four separated by two points in mid-table but closer, on points, to the bottom than the top.
Golcar Lib B had an amazing 9-0 home win over fellow strugglers Denby Dale to raise hopes of moving clear of the drop zone but they are still 11 points off that position with four fixtures still to be played. With New Mill A going down 4-5 at Thongsbridge A saw them drop into the relegation places but only two points behind the two teams immediately above them in the table.
