Two Division 4 teams in JFT Quarter Finals

Review of the results in the Julie Fuller Trophy Round of the Last 16

Half of the teams still in the Julie Fuller Trophy competition are Division 1 teams, these being Slaithwaite, Thongsbridge A, Lindley Lib A and Clayton West. Two (New Mill A and Almomondbury Lib) come from Division 2 and the other two are both Division 4 teams who will face each other in the Quarter-Finals later this month.

New Mill B and Holmfirth B are the two Division 4 survivors, which also means both New Mill teams retain an active interest in the competition. The progress of the Holmfirth B side provided the giant-killing achievement of the round when they beat the Division 3 leaders, Hemplow A, who were unbeaten up until that outcome. With only one League win this season this KO win could kick-start the season for the Holmfirth team

With only a two-point handicap advantage the New Mill B side didn't need that assistance to see off their opponents, fellow Division 4 team Brockholes C, and set up an intriguing meeting of the two remaining Division 4 teams. One of them will be appearing in the Semi-Finals of this year's competition and they will probably have to beat the favourites, Clayton West, to go any further. Clayton West are the only scratch team left in contention after they beat Brockholes A and the only other scratch team, Marsh United A, were beaten 53-40 by Lindley Lib A.
