Winter League
Two more Divisions begin their 14-week seasons tomorrow when Lockwood Con host the eight Division 8 teams in their opening round of fixtures and a new host green at Paddock I&C opens their green to the new Division 9 competition. Here are the opening fixtures for both divisions.

Golcar C&BC won the Division 8 title last season and because of logistical reasons asked to remain in Division 8 this time around. The League accepted that they had a good case and have stripped the all-ladies team of 20 points penalty. That may not be a problem to them as they won the Division 8 title by 19 points last season from runners-up Holmfirth who have been promoted. They were a massive 29 points ahead of 3rd placed Mirfield B hence the 20 point handicap.
Division 9 is impossible to call as there are 7 new teams plus Kirkheaton C&BC B who were relegated from Division 8 at the end of last season. They start their campaign with a match against their own teammates, the C team from Kirkheaton C&BC and new to the League. So a bit of local pride and bragging rights at stake. All the other 6 teams are new to the League including a third team from Kirkheaton, however, this team comes from the Kirkheaton Con camp so lots of derby matches to enjoy this season in Division 9.
