Top 4 to break clear in Division 2

Winter League

Preview of the Tuesday 26 November Division 2 fixtures to be played at Cowcliffe

The Division 2 table is in danger of splitting into two equal four-team sub-divisions. The top four chasing the two promotion places and the bottom four striving to stay out of the two relegation places. It was clear from the outset of the season that this was going to be the 'Group of Death' with so many good teams chasing a better future.

The top four teams are only separated by four points and include the two teams promoted from Division 3 and the bottom two teams from last season's Division 1. So that leaves Clayton West, the highest placed team from last season, outside the top four of this Division along with Milnsbridge A who only lost out on promotion by one point last year.

To add to the new divide the top four teams play the bottom four teams this Tuesday. Hanging Heaton A and Golcar Lib are level on 20 points at the top of the table and they play Clayton West and Lindley Lib B respectively on Tuesday. Marsh United look to have the toughest test of the top four when taking on 5th placed Milnsbridge A. That leaves Lowerhouses A to confront Lindley BC B and it is difficult to see any alternative combination of results other than the top four coming out on top to emphasise the gap even more but you never can tell.
