Top 250 consecutive wins for Yorkshire

Bowling News

Memories

Earlier in the year we had some fun with the Yorkshire bowler appearance records and time for another look at those figures. This time we present the top 250 bowlers to have appeared for the county since records began and show them in the order of the most consecutive winners.

Top of that list is Alf Wilby who made his county debut in 1946 and he played 59 times for his county during which time he assembled the best unbeaten run of all time of 17 straight consecutive wins. A remarkable record at any level. That total edged Ashley Dayking into second place and the full records are below for you to mull through.

Ashley Daykin's win streak was 4 seasons unbeaten, 2013 to 2016 Alf Wilby's 17 wins stretched from 13/8/55 until he lost on 2/6/62

What a fantastic start to his county career by Jonathan Wood 9/9. Is this the best ever start? I'll let someone else trawl through the list.

His run now stands at 12 as he won his 3 games in 2023 which Jeff hasn't included above As only 3 players have better streaks than that, I doubt anyone has started like this for the Men's County but there is one better for the Ladies who managed to win her first 22 games before losing in August this year Stand up, Farnley Tyas's Fern Beaumont & one of her wins included a 21-0
