Preview of all the Veterans 6-Man League fixtures scheduled for Monday 18 August

The top three teams in Division 1 all have matches this Monday that they will expect to win and, if they are to retain any interest in winning the Division 1 title, need to win as things become closer between the leading contenders. Just two points separate the top three teams with the leaders, Clayton West A, having a home fixture against Golcar C&BC who have won 3 of their last 4 fixtures only losing to Marsh United A so will be no pushover. Marsh United A also have a home match against Brockholes A who sit in the relegation places and are desparate for points to ease their plight. Waterloo are the only top three team with an away fixture this Monday when they go to Slaithwaite to play a team that has only lost at home to Clayton West A and Marsh United A all season but are in a run of 3 defeats in their last 4 fixtures.
Six points seprate the bottom four teams with two of them with home fixtures and they are Thongsbridge A and New Mill A. They play Shepley A and Milnsbridge A respectively who are two teams securely tucked into mid-table with little to play for.
