A look at the Week 2 results in the top two divisions of the Veterans 6-Man League.

Six close results in Division 1 this week with no team scoring more than 5 points. That has resulted in a logjam at the top of the table with just one point between the top four teams. Similar at the foot of the table as well with one point separating the bottom three teams who are all looking for their first win of the season.
Lets start at the top where ThongsbridgeA made home advantage count as they saw off Waterloo 5-2 to move up from 5th place to the top of the table. Waterloo are knocked off top spot and drop to third but it is early days and I am sure they will be beack before long if they can shake off my endorsement as Champion favourites. Another top four clash saw Clayton West beat Skel Windmill A 5-2 to move into second place with a 185-188 aggregate difference keeping them off a top place for now.
Shepley A retained their unbeaten start to the season with a 4-3 away success at Brockholes A after an 88-86 aggregate win secured the extra two points to keep their winning run going and condemn the losers to the bottom place for now. Marsh United A returned to winning ways with a 5-2 home success over Netherton Con A where once again the aggregate bonus points counted for everything after a 92-91 end-result and a first win for the defending Champions.
New Mill A are struggling to come to terms with Division 1 standards after last season's promotion and a second defeat, this time at home to Slaithwaite, shows how far off the pace they are at present. Clayton West were also promoted last year and they have settled much quicker with two straight wins to kickstart their season. The team on the wrong end of that result being Skel Windmill A who will be disappointed with that outcome after a good opening day win last week. The Milnsbridge A versus Golcar C&BC encounter saw the home team come out on top with a 5-2 scoreline and they move into the mid-table trio all on 7 points.

Broad Oak have begun their first season in the 6-Man League in positive style with two wins and a 2-points lead at the top of the Division 2 table. A whitewash 7-0 home win over Crosland Moor pushed them clear of the chasing pack. Marsh Lib A and Holmfirth A lead the way in tracking them down. Both remain unbeaten and both clocked up 6-1 home wins over Brockholes B and Lockwood Con respectively this week.
There were two away first wins in this division as Golcar Lib won 6-1 at Longwood and Lindley Lib A recorded a victory over Paddock I&C. The four teams at the foot of the table are all still looking for their first wins of the season
