Division 6 teams meet up at the Rugby Club on Thursday

Four of last season's Division 6 teams meet up again for the first day of the 2026-27 season but at a new host green.

DIVISION 6 is straightforward – no teams who declined promotion last season, or any teams who were promoted more than one division.

Dalton were relegated from Division 5 after finishing bottom last term and they face a Springwood C team who were third at this level in 2025-26. The Springwood outfit will have to cope with a change of venue this term with Division 6 relocating from Netherton Con to the green alongside Huddersfield RUFC. However a swapping of personnel between the Springwood B and C teams means that nothing has changed much at all.

The other relegated side were Milnsbridge C who start their season with an outing against Almondbury BC A. They finished in fifth spot last season but will hope to be more than eight points clear than the relegation zone.

The rugby union outfit’s bowling club were promoted as Division 7 champions and start off the season with an outing against Hanging Heaton B a side who finished just one spot above relegation.

The other promoted side came from Kirkheaton Con with their B team winning eight of their 14 games on the green that they will be bowling on this season. They face a tough task with opponents Outlane A having finished last term a much improved side compared to their showing in the first half of the season.
