A preview of all the Division 5 & 6 fixtures scheduled for Thursday 23 November
An interesting meeting of two teams from the top three in Division 5 headlines the pre-match preview, The leaders are Outlane and they have to face third-placed Slaithwaite this Thursday and as second placed Mirfield don't have match this week the winner is likely to sit at the top of the table on Thursday evening. Slaithwaite are just two points behind the leaders with a match in hand so everything to play for.
Only 4 points separate the top six teams in the division so every point counts especially with three teams on the same 20-points marker. All three meet opponents below them in the table this week with Springwood C taking on bottom of the table Netherton Con B; Brockholes B meet strugglers Almondbury BC B and the Recreation Club takes on a resurgent Jackson Bridge team.
In Division 6 second in the table Lockwood Con B have a bye week and with Linthwaite Hall, the leaders, playing bottom half team Golcar C&BC little is likely to change at the top of the table. Third-placed New Mill C have won their last four fixtures and face a big challenge this week from the Rugby Club who are just below them in the table.
Bottom of the table, Mirfield B, are hoping that their seventh attempt to win for the first time is more successful than the previous six attempts when they take on Cowcliffe B. Two struggling teams face each other when Broad Oak and Kirkheaton Con B face up. With only one more round of fixtures before the halfway stage of the season, this is an important time for teams at both ends of the table.
