Preview of the 6-Man League Programme for w/c 26 September

The last full Monday fixture programme of the season will see Shepley seeking the one point that they need to secure the Division 1 title for a second consecutive season. They go to Netherton Con requiring a single point and that assumes that Honley Con, the only team that can catch them, get a 7-0 away win at Longwood. Honley Con cannot be overtaken by third-placed Golcar C&BC so are assured of at least second place.
There are more matches planned over the rest of this week and next but the only ones that can affect the Destination of the Division 1 title will be played out on Monday. That is the only matter outstanding in Division 1 as Linthwaite Hall and Lindley Lib 'A' are already relegated
Slaithwaite have only fielded 4 bowlers in each of their last four Division 2 fixtures due to the 50% rule. The fact that they are not involved in the relegation battle is due to the points accrued prior to that. So whilst mathematically they are still able to clinch the second promotion place that is highly unlikely leaving the way for Skel Windmill 'A' to take that position up by claiming 12 points from their last two games.

Marsh United 'A' have already won the Division 2 title as well as promotion and that leaves only the matter of relegation to be resolved. That could be any two of the bottom four teams with 52-points being the safety target. Bottom team Meltham do have a chance of avoiding the drop as their two remaining matches are against the two teams immediately above them in the table - New Mill and Skel Windmill 'B'. Two wins would surely bring them salvation from the dreaded drop. Lindley Lib 'B' could avoid relegation as their one remaining match is at home to 'four-man Slaithwaite'
Golcar Lib are the Division 3 Champions and Almondbury Lib are promoted along with them. The Wooden Spoon can only be claimed by the current bottom two teams - Shepley 'B' and Brockholes 'B'.
