The below statements from BCGBA and Yorkshire CCGBA indicate the penalties that clubs will incurr should they not pay the full £1 per bowler levy by 31 May and that includes any non-payment from the 2024 season.

Failure to pay the BCGBA £1 annual player development fee by the due date will result in the suspension of the entire club and all its registered members from playing any form of competitive Crown Green Bowls until the fees are paid.

Details of the Penalty

  • Suspension: Both the club in default and all its registered members are suspended from participating in any competitive Crown Green Bowls activities.

  • Duration: The suspension remains in effect until all outstanding fees, including any from previous years, are fully paid.

  • Due Date: The annual fee must be paid by May 31st each year.

  • Collection Method: The fee is collected by the club from its members and then remitted to the BCGBA via their county association.

Additionally, some county associations have implemented supplementary fines for related administrative failures:

  • In Yorkshire (YCCGBA), clubs failing to update their player list on the "JustGo" membership system by May 31st are subject to a minimum fine of £10, increasing by £1 per week until updated.
