Remembrance Sunday

Today is Remembrance Sunday which is always the 2nd Sunday in November.

In addition Remembrance Day is marked by the tradition of the two-minutes silence being observed at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month which was when the truce was signed to end World War I. It has since been widely used to remember soldiers lost in other conflicts.

Remembrance Day is this Tuesday and we have asked all three host greens holding bowling matches on that day to delay the start of their matches by observing two minutes silence to honour the memory of soldiers killed in action in any conflict.
