Rest in Peace
It is sad to be reporting the passing of Michael Sykes, a two-times winner of the Huddersfield Merit and a Lindley Liberal Club and Kirkheaton C&BC bowling member.
Michael was believed to be 58 at the time of his passing and he will be well remembered in bowling circles because of his consecutive wins of the Huddersfield Merit in 1994 and 1995 being only the third bowler ever to successfully defend the title.

I used to bowl with Mick at King Cross in Halifax with John and James Senior. Great bowler and character.
