R.I.P. Five Outlane bowlers

Rest in Peace

Bit of a catch-up exercise as I have been informed by David Union of five members of Outlane B.C. who passed away over the last 2 years.

Roger Allcock (pictured) bowled for the Outlane Veterans team right through the 2019 season and passed away suddenly in May 2020. He'd previously bowled for Elland C&BC.

Clifford Wheelwright passed away in March 2020. Played for a number of the club's teams but didn't play in the club's Veterans League team. He bowled for several Slaithwaite teams as well, including their Veterans team where he played last in September 2020. Clifford had a stroke in 2019 and couldn't bowl with his right arm so he switched to his left. He was so good bowling with his left arm that he didn't get his club handicap reduced! Clifford was also the first person in Huddersfield to die with Covid19

Sadly his widow, Mollie. passed away in March 2021. Mollie bowled for several Outlane BC teams.

Donald Armstrong passed away in February 2019. He played his last game for the club's Veterans team in April 2016 and was well-known in the division/section because he used white woods. He had wet or dry macular and his eyesight was very poor.

Peter Goodison was a stalwart member of the Outlane Veterans team and last played in September 2018 passing away in April 2020.
