Plenty of shocks in Bistro KO

There were a number of close scorelines in Tuesday's Bistro KO fixtures but only one drawn aggregate scoreline. That was between Milnsbridge A and Lindley Lib A with a final 100-100 tie decided by Lindley Lib's better 3-2 game score.

There was also a high number of teams beating higher placed opponents with 9 of the 25 ties going to teams in lower divisions than their opponents.

The two inter-club clashes both went the way of the club's A team with Hemplow and Marsh Lib A teams coming out tops. Kirkheaton Con A won this competition last season but fell at the first defence of their title going down to Denby Dale on the Ravensknowle Park green. Cowcliffe overcame the largest handicap difference when beating Huddersfield Recreation Club 102-89 despite a 32 handicap starting difference.

The one all-Division 1 tie saw bottom of the table Waterloo crash out 85-89 to Clayton West. In addition there were Division 1 scalps for Elland WMC (106-78 over Lockwood Con A) and Skel Windmill (113-105 v Marsh United A), There were also notable wins over higher division opponents for Brockholes A, Broad Oak B, Dalton, Elland WMC, Springwood, Kirkheaton C&BC A, and a first win of the season for bottom of Division 5 team Holmfirth B who beat Primrose Hill Lib (121-119).
