Peter Muff tributes

Rest in Peace

Bill Blackburn (Lindley BC) remembers ....

One thing I remember well. When Peter and Judith decided to get married my wife, Enid and I were invited to the wedding along with another couple. Peter had been a bachelor and had his own home and Judith had been married before. Trying to think of a present was a nightmare. We knew Peter was a good friend of Ginger McCain, owner of Red Rum, so I sent a letter to him asking if he could let us have a genuine racing plate from the horse with a signed letter to authenticate it. We received it, had it chrome plated, mounted it on a smart wooden plaque and took it to the wedding reception. On opening the box, tears came to Peter's eyes and it took pride of place on his sitting room wall.

Nancy & Dave Wood remember ....

Muffy was a character. He had a long and relatively healthy life. We would like to remember him for all the golf & bowling trips, nights out and holidays we shared over the years. It was partially his fault that we now live in the sunny Algarve. God bless you old friend.

Hazel and Paul Rangeley remember ....

Who could forget Peter's marvellous columns and often full pages of bowling news in the Examiner. What a promoter of bowling he was and I guess that many will have been encouraged to start bowling because of the impact of Peter's journalism. We have many vivid and happy memories of Peters and Judith's company and Peter's brilliant storytelling. Stories about bowling and many interesting aspects of life too. A sad day, but remembered with much fondness.
