Winter League
This Friday is Finals Day in the 2025-26 Pairs Knock-Out competition with the last eight pairs of bowlers already following the draw through to a conclusion. All the latest results and the full draw can be found on our Bowlnet pages by clicking on COMPS from the top border menu.
Bowlers are reminded that we will be enforcing the BCGBA Dress Code on the day. That means Black Trousers and a collared shirt (not as though you will be able to see the collars under the layers of jumpers and coats you will be wearing).
Hopefully the weather will be a little warmer and we can have a good day for this competition which started off with 93 Pairs (186 bowlers) so the Quarter-Finalists have already made great progress in getting this far. It all starts at 11.00am on Friday 27 February at Thorpe Green.
There is one change to the line-up below. Richard Whiteley is unexpectedly stranded in Portugal and will miss partnering Stuart Greaves in Friday's Quarter-Final. The League has informed Stuart that he can replace Robert with another team member who is suitably qualified (having not played in the competition already and completed the minimum one Division 2 match). Teammate John Belfield complies with that requirement and therefore takes over from Robert Whiteley on Friday. Ironically John originally entered the competition accompanying Stuart but the qualifying round date was changed after the original round was postponed because of a frozen green. The roles have been reversed and now John replaces Robert.
The winners will be presented with the Robert Hitchen Cup donated by Elland WMC. Robert will be in attendance to make the presentation upon conclusion of the proceedings.
All Pairs KO matches are of 15-ends or 21-up, whichever comes first with the Quarter-Finals line-up below.
Don't forget the Dress Code!!
