Preview of matches in Divisions 1 & 2 of the 10-Man League scheduled for Tuesday 15 July

This Tuesday sees the 2nd half of the season starting with a reverse of the opening day fixtures in all five of the Veterans 10-Man League divisions. Longwood had a great start to the Division 1 season inflicting a 9-0 hammering of Rastrick but the outcome may be different this week with Rastrick having won all five of their home fixtures this season. Lowerhouses currently head the table and with an away fixture at relegation-threatened Meltham A will be keen and confident of a big win following on from winning their last two away matches which were against top four opposition.
Waterloo started the season with a run of seven straight defeats and a trip to Clayton West would not be on their list of places to go this week desperate for points. Already 17 points adrift of safety and showing few signs of recovery it looks like being a long second half of the season for them.
Lindley Lib A will be thankful that the two teams below them in the table have difficult fixtures as they go to play Kirkheaton Con A who beat them on their own turf at the start of the season. Golcar Lib A and Cowcliffe sit behind the top two and meet up this Tuesday with neither team in their best form of the season with both only winning one of their last three matches. Two teams aiming to stay out of the drop zone go up against each other as Lockwood Con A host Marsh United A who won the opening day fixture 6-3.

The two Elland teams continue to lead the Division 2 table and with only one point between them and both having home matches this week little may change. Both play top half opponents who they beat away from home on day one of the season.
There will be considerable interest in the fixture featuring the bottom two teams up against each other as Golcar Lib B go to play at Netherton Con A. It would be no surprise if the home team came out top again as they did on the opening day of the season. The meeting of Milnsbridge A and New Mill A is important to both teams in their quest to steer clear of becoming involved in the relegation battle whilst Denby Dale will do well to improve their position with a trip to play Almondbury BC A.
Broad Oak A and Shepley are teams on the fringe of the promotion race both waiting for the top two to trip up but they need to be in a position to take advantage of that scenario that a win this week could secure for the winners.
