Only one Division 3 win record intact after 2 weeks

Winter League

A review of the Division 3 matches played at Thorpe Green on Monday 17 October

The photo below shows the sunshine that greeted the eight Division 3 teams back to Thorpe Green on Monday for Week 2 of the season and a week that only left one team with a full 100% win record.

Just two games into the Division 3 season and only the Huddersfield Recreation Club 'A' of the 8 teams remain with a 100% win record.

Adding to their opening day 6-2 win over Almondbury BC 'A' with another 6-2 win over Paddock I&C 'A' this week to top the table courtesy of a better Aggregate For total. They are level on points with Thorpe Green 'B' who used their local knowledge to good effect when white-washing Dalton by 8-0. One point separates the top three teams and is it also one point between the bottom three teams.

Paddock I&C 'A' and Rastrick 'B' are both still looking for their first wins of the season after both lost their Week 2 matches and share the bottom spot as a result. Rastrick 'B' did get a Week 1 draw but dropped to the foot of the table due to a one-point less Aggregate For total than the Paddock outfit. Long way to go of course and all the early signs are that each team is quite capable of beating any of the other teams in the division making things close and highly competitive as the season progresses.
