New funding opportunity from Greene King

There are often grants available for bowling clubs' worthwhile projects and a new funding opportunity has just come online from Greene King. They are donating 10p from every pint of Greene King IPA purchased this year towards grass root sport clubs.

Greene King have opened a new funding source specifically for sports clubs with a total of £300,000 already allocated and the target is to turn that into a £1million windfall to sports clubs. The maximum bid allowed is for £4,000 per project and bids are now invited although the closing date is 31 December 2023. Obviously when the pot is emptied the bidding ceases so get your act together early if you are serious about this.

After a tough time recently, we’re stepping in to give something back to the grassroots sports clubs we love. 'Proud To Pitch In' is an initiative from Greene King IPA, paying cash grants to grassroots and community sports clubs across the United Kingdom. Fund details

The aim of this fund is to support sports focussed projects that positively impact their club and/or the local community, and would tangibly benefit from funding. The fund is particularly focused on sports projects that have a long-term impact.

Examples of projects that have previously received funding include:

- Renovations of a club’s facilities making them more inclusive and accessible

- Coaching qualifications and referee courses

- New equipment

The fund is open to applications all year and grants will be distributed regularly.

To be eligible for funding, projects must be located in the United Kingdom and project beneficiaries must be aged 18 or over.
