The first holding of the Eddie Haigh Memorial Trophy is being held over four Saturday evenings in April with Finals Day on Saturday 2 May. Sixteen entrants bowling down each day to four bowlers who will progress through to Finals Day.
All rounds to be held at Eddie's beloved Lockwood Con with £2,000 in prize money thanks to sponsorship from the Haigh family.
It all started on Easter Saturday and the four qualifying rounds will be held on the four Saturdays in April, each week starting at 6pm, with practice from 5pm. There will be hot and cold food available each week. Then on 11th April there is entertainment in the clubhouse with the Reflections group playing from 8.30pm, on the 18th there's a Donkey Derby, first race is at 7pm and on the 25th April it's comedian singer Jonny Martell from 7.30pm.
The opening qualifier was staged last Saturday with the first batch of four qualifiers going through to Finals Day and they were Tom Marsland, Mark Wood, Lorraine Hirst and Chris English. All the results from that first Qualifying Round are below.
