Another dip into the memory banks to come up with another Name the Team, Name the Bowlers and Name the Year that this collection of individuals hit the headlines in local bowling circles. Apart from two members of the team pictured below, I had no one else contacting me with any best guesses as to the team, bowlers or year.
The Huddersfield Examiner report said ...
Nearly ... but not quite. Hemplow B (pictured below before they beat Subscription Cup Champions Slaithwaite CBC in the semi-final) went down to Lindley Liberal B in the final of the Huddersfield Associations 12-man team Millennium Team Challenge. The pleasure they got from such a long run in the tournament was just another indication of the enthusiasm that helped them to rise phoenix-like from the ashes and underline the fact that they are 'back in business' up at Marsden.
So the team was Hemplow B and the year was 2000 and the team was Back Row (from left): Stephen Pollard, Frank Armitage, Steve Aspinal, Les Fisher, Stephen Holyroyd, Harold Rose, David Armitage Front Row (from left): Ashley Taylor, Steve Butters, Peter Armitage, Gordon Kewley, Robert Taylor, Dave Wagner
