Well done to all those who guessed correctly and time to move on to a new challenge with Name the Roller's Green No.1 below. These are more difficult than anything posted before so a real challenge. There is no shame in having a wild guess. I will let you know by email if your guess is right or wrong. One-a-day challenges but all the answers will not be posted online until New Year's Day.
Lots of clubs have redundant rollers hanging around their greens. You will be surprised how many there are. These are rollers that are no longer favoured by greenkeepers whereas one time they were a key element in the greenkeeper's toolkit. They are not easy to get rid of so they end up unloved and adorning their old home. A few are well looked after in their retirement, others are hidden away behind sheds and outbuildings. How observant are you in pairing up these old rollers with their present home club.
All of Christmas week, one a day, we will be posting a range of loved and also discarded rollers. All you have to do is name the green where they are seeing out their days. The art is looking at the surroundings of the rollers in the photographs to identify the green.
Email your best guess to jefftheref2000@yahoo.co.uk. Please don't leave the answer anywhere else as that can spoil the fun for later visitors.
