In times gone by one of the major pieces of the greenkeeper's equipment was a 'bigger-the-better' roller. Recently I read on a well regarded greenkeeper's website that a green should never be rolled. The argument being that the rollers on the normal mower used frequently are adequate to meet the demands of any green. Maybe greenkeepers have read the same article as I keep finding redundant rollers at an increasing number of greens that I have visited. I've even taken photographs of three of them and now challenge you to test your observation powers by naming the three local greens that these rollers reside at. Send me your best guess
