Preview of the Divisions 3 and 4 fixture programmes for Monday 21 November

There is a 2nd versus 3rd clash in Division 4 this Monday as the race for promotion hots up. One place but 5 points between Kirkheaton C&BC and Milnsbridge 'B' with a duo of teams one point further back hovering with intent upon the outcome of this match. Marsh Lib being one of those teams with a fixture against bottom-of-the-table HRC 'B' lined up this week.

That could provide the opportunity for them to step up to the mark and launch their own challenge for a top-two position. There are quite a few permutations this week as another of those contenders, Lowerhouses 'B' take on the unbeaten leaders, Lindley Lib 'B', who have a 4-point lead over all-comers.

At the opposite end of the table two teams heavily involved in the relegation battle go head-to-head as Paddock I&C 'B' face up to Netherton Con 'B' who could be seriously adrift if they fail to make any inroads into Paddock's 7-point advantage this week.

Brockholes 'A' continue to set a hot pace at the top of the Division 3 table which now stretches to 7-points ahead of 2nd placed Huddersfield Recreation Club and 13-points ahead of third-placed Rastrick 'B' so very well placed in the promotion tussle even at this early stage of the season. This week they take on the Thorpe Green 'B' team who have lost their last three matches after a bright start to the season.

The Recreation Club will look to consolidate their position in the promotion places by beating 4th placed Dalton and hoping to maintain their 6-points lead over Rastrick who meet Springwood 'B' this Monday. As the Springwood side clocked up their first 8-0 win of the season last week they come into the match in their best form to date but only Brockholes have beaten Rastrick this season so a promising encounter is on the cards.

Five points separate the bottom 5 teams and Paddock I&C 'A' are at the bottom of that pile but could easily climb the table with a couple of good results and they will need to beat Almondbury BC 'A' this Monday if that sort of run is within their capability. They will have been heartened by pushing leaders Brockholes 'A' all the way last week only going down to a 51-52 aggregate deficit and that sort of performance repeated could start a revival.
