Marsh United bowler lifts LD Trophy

Veterans League

Marsh United bowler. Ken Roys is the 2025 Lower Divisions Trophy winner after the three rounds of the Finals Day at Longwood yesterday defeating New Mill bowler Dennis Lomax in the Final. On a very fast green which was a challenge to all eight finalists it was Ken who mastered it first and best to run out a deserved winner saving his best performance for the Final.

The Lower Divisions Trophy is only open to bowlers who play in the 6-Man League or in Divisions 3,4 or 5 in the 10-Man League. This year, as an experiment, the top two bowlers from each Division at the end of the 2024 season were given a free entry to the competition and that initiative was rewarded with a bumper 61 entries in total.

With that number it meant that all eight Finals Day bowlers had already battled well to reach this stage and I am sure that they all enjoyed their day in the limelight with a good crowd urging them on. Scroll down for all the results and more action photos from Longwood.
