Review of results in Divisions 1&2 of the 10-Man League fixtures played on Tuesday 1 July

The top three Division 1 teams all won their matches this week but the decisive result was Lowerhouses' 9-0 thrahing of Kirkheaton Con A which put them at the top of the updated table. That was the first time that the Kirkheaton team had suffered a whitewash loss since August 2025 and it hurt. The win saw the Lowerhouses team overtake Longwood who had a 6-3 win over Clayton West whilst Golcar Lib A firmed up their hold on 3rd place after a 6-3 away win at bottom team Waterloo.
In the second relegation place sits Meltham A after a 3-6 away defeat at Marsh United A and Lindley Lib A eased their own relegation worries with a 3rd win in their last 4 fixtures when disposing of Cowcliffe by 6-3. Lockwood Con A moved up from 8th to 4th psotion after a 6-3 home win over Rastrick who drop from 4th to 7th as a result.

Two weeks ago Elland C&BC had a 10-points lead at the top of the Division 2 table which has bee eroded away and now sits an uncomfortable 3-points difference and the momentum very much with their local rivals Elland WMC. The leaders had a difficult task away at 4th placed Shepley who confirmed that difficulty level by beating their opponents 6-3 and inflicting a third consecutive defeat on the Elland C&BC team. Whereas the Elland WMC team were celebrating a third consecutive win with an emphatic 8-1 away success at bottom of the table Netherton Con A.
Seven points behind the top two is a group of four teams separated by two points and with the smell of promotion very much in their nostrils as they detect vulnerability in the cases of the wounded top two. As well as Shepley in that bunch of four are Thongsbridge A, Lindley BC A and Broad oak A who all also won their matches this week.
