A preview of the Division 1 fixtures to be played on Wednesday 1 December
This round of fixtures will complete the first half of the season for Division 1 teams and, with already a 14-point lead, Lower Hopton are guaranteed top spot at the halfway stage. They square up against Milnsbridge 'A' this Wednesday and are likely to extend that lead with second-placed Clayton West having the day off. The Milnsbridge team would love to take some points off the leaders to ease their precarious position in the drop zone at present but better teams have tried and failed before them although they do come to the green on the back of a good 4-4 draw last week with New Millers which will give them heart.
There are just 2 points between the teams in 3rd, 4th and 5th places with the New Millers set to move second with a match against Thorpe Green 'A' this week that they are expected to win. Anything less than a whitewash scoreline could leave the way open for Kirkheaton Con to overtake them as they face bottom team Rastrick 'A'.
Finally Lindley BC 'A' and Lowerhouses 'A' will both be looking to finish the first half of the season strongly to enable a more optimistic outlook for the second half of the campaign. Only one of them can win but which one? It all takes place at Milnsbridge BC from 12noon on Wednesday where spectators are very welcome.
