A £8,500 green mower and attachments have been stolen from Huddersfield RUFC in what seems to be a targeted theft. The mower was stolen from a locked container on the site with other equipment belonging to the Rugby Club not touched. The belief being that this was a theft 'stolen to order' with a 'customer' already lined up to receive the stolen goods.
The mower, a Dennis FT510 (illustrated below), was bought new for £8,500 and it was taken along with scarifier and verticut cartridges valued at £2,000 each with no other kit touched.
This should act as a warning to other clubs in the area that these thieves are in operation and also alert other clubs should they be offered such a mower.
