Kirkheaton Cons rejoins Winter League

Updated: Sep 2, 2021

Winter League

Two teams withdrew from the Winter League at the end of the 2020-21 season for different reasons. One was the Milnsbridge 'B' team but they have since reviewed their earlier decision, decided that there was sufficient interest to field two teams so reapplied. The other team was Kirkheaton Cons and a surge of interest within the club means that they have also rejoined for the coming season.

That takes the total number of teams for the new season, which starts in October, up from 14 last year to 26 and the number of divisions has increased from 2 to 3. So things are really taking off for the Winter season with the number and standing of teams both on the up.

New team applications are still welcome but the deadline is this Wednesday (1 September) with the Management Committee meeting on Friday to finalise the make-up of the three divisions in preparation for the fixture programme being established with some matches expected to start in the first week of October.
