It's Finals Day in the Pairs KO

Veterans League

This Thursday it is Finals Day in the Veterans League Pairs Knock-Out competition. The final eight qualifiers meet up at the traditional home of this competition climax, Almondbury Liberal Club from 1.00pm.

The 2024 winners of the competition once again feature on Finals Day as the Waterloo pairing of Alan Stephenson and Ian Lunn have a difficult opening match against the fellow scratch-rated pairing of Ian Briggs and Andy Wike from Longwood. At the opposite end of the draw another top clash sees scratch pair Ashley Daykin and Andy Mitchell from Lowerhouses have a one-point start over -1 handicap Marsh United pair Andy Carter and Steve Mallinson. It is not unreasonable to expect that the two winners from these matches at each end of the draw will make up the finalists.
