Bowling News
The Yorkshire Cup used to be one of the most revered and sought-after trophies in the bowling calendar. Nowadays you can't even find out who is playing who and who is still left in this year's competition. Downgraded and ignored by the very organisation that should be promoting it.
I tried really hard to find out the draw and results for the recent rounds of the County competitions and in particular the Yorkshire Cup and the Henry Taylor Cup. Despite being an official outlet for communications from the Yorkshire CCGBA I have heard nothing on the competitions front at all. Actually, I have never received anything about anything from the YCCGBA since taking up the role of official communications outlet. I would resign but as nothing ever happens anyway there seems little point in doing that. There is nothing on the Yorkshire CCGBA website (https://www.yccgba.org.uk/) since mid-May or on their Facebook pages. Other online queries have resulted in some clubs sharing their Cup commitments but no sign of any complete and useable information. I did email the Competition Secretary but I haven't had a response of course.
Is the YCCGBA still even in business? Are we paying these people to run the League? Yes we are! What a shambles!!
