The Yorkshire Veterans Inter-District League resumes with the Huddersfield team taking on a Castleford team that has lost all six of their fixtures to date. Leeds look nailed on for the title especially after a 41-15 win last time out over their nearest rivals, Halifax. The Huddersfield team look well placed to take second place and will probably have to settle for the distinction of being the only team to beat Leeds this summer.

The Huddersfield team will expect a big win this Friday over bottom of the table Castleford on the interesting selected green at Hemplow. With Aire & Wharfe having to play Leeds this week the opportunity to move up one place in the table is clear.

The home team is Robert Dickinson, Tony Cross, Mick Chapman, Robert Spencer making his debut, Ray Whitwam, Graham Sigsworth and Andrew Wike. Reserves are Peter Hopkinson and Garry Senior. Non-playing captain Frank Greenwood and Manager David Armitage.
