Review of the Divisions 6&7 results of matches played on Thursday 29 January

Brockholes B crept up on the Division 7 leaders, Cowcliffe B, after beating them 6-2 on Thursday. There are two more rounds of fixtures to be played and only a 4-point gap between the teams now as the race for the title continues. However the Brockholes team will be looking to clinch promotion first before tackling the ultimate prize. The perpetual 3rd-placed team from Springwood C along with Outlane A are still within range of beating them to that final promotion place. Guess who the final two opponents are for the Badgers team? That's right, Springwood C and Outlane B. We couldn't have stage-managed a finer climax to another good season on the Netherton Con green.
Cowcliffe B are assured of promotion but whether they can add the Champions title to that remains to be seen. Their final two fixtures are against Springwood B, who need the points to avoid relegation and Almondbury BC A. Outlane A have forced themselves into the promotion picture with three wins (including over Cowcliffe B) in their last four fixtures. A first 8-0 win of the season, over Springwood B, has pushed them on to the fringe of the promotion race.
The Springwood C team are heading for a third consecutive 3rd place finish after a 59-58 aggregate score saw them draw 4-4 with Almondbury BC A and the two bottom teams, Netherton Con B and Hanging Heaton B also shared the spoils in a 4-4 draw. With their final two fixtures against the two teams immediately above them in the table, Hanging Heaton B could still avoid the drop. It is a much more difficult target for the homesters from Netherton Con B who still have to play the teams in 3rd and 4th places who will be pushing for the 2nd promotion place.

The final day of the Division 7 season saw the homesters from the Rugby Club claim the Champions title in style with a 6-2 win over Lockwood Con B to open up an 8-point lead over their nearest opponents. Kirkheaton Con B struggled over the line to claim the 2nd promotion place on a better 'Aggregate For' total over Holmfirth A after going down 2-6 to Huddersfield Recreation Club B.
The Holmfirth B team had pushed themselves into the final day promotion picture with an 8-0 win over New Mill C which finally pushed their opponents through the relegation trapdoor.
