Jack Dyson is unavailable to go for a record-equalising third title-winning act of the Champion of Champions competition. That leaves only one former winner in the Last 16. That is James Davison and along with two home bowlers we have an interesting draw which guarantees a Veteran and a Junior progressing to the Quarter-Finals. It all happens on Saturday at Kirkheaton Cons starting at 2.00pm.

Homester Dave Fox is the 2/1 favourite for the competition winner with 2nd favourite Mark Atkinson having to face another home bowler, Harry Lumb, in the opening round.

The two betting outsiders are in the top half of the draw and face each other in the opening round as Clayton West bowler and Inter-District captain Malcolm Gilbert at 40/1 for the title takes on Lockwood Con stalwart and Over-80's KO winner, Eddie Haigh who is 33/1.

Another veteran involved is Rose Bowl winner Graham Hirst of Lowerhouses and he may fancy having a nibble on himself at 18/1. Remember that it was the Veterans Rose Bowl winner who took the title last year when Ian Briggs claimed the Champion-of-Champions crown.

Thank you to Dave Parkin for another easy-to-follow colourful chart showing the draw and the qualifying competitions each bowler won to reach this stage.
