A review of the Tuesday results for the Divisions 1&2 teams

Five of Tuesday's six Division 1 fixtures ended in 7-2 home wins and that included the top two teams, Lowerhouses and Longwood. They retain the Division's only two 100% win records and a gap is already emerging between them and the rest of the contenders. Three teams are on 10 points chasing the two leaders and that includes the two Elland teams promoted from Division 2 last season.
The only non 7-2 winners was also a home win as Cowcliffe got their first win of the season by beating Lockwood Con A 6-3.

We have a similar situation in Division 2 with Meltham A and Lindley BC A holding the two unbeaten records after respective away wins over Broad Oak A and Shepley. The Lindley team's 5-4 away win at Shepley was a tight affair with a 115-115 aggregate scoreline giving the visitors the edge. Meltham seem to be setting a course for a fourth consecutive promotion or relegation between the top two divisions and head the early table after a good 7-2 away win at Broad Oak A.
It is starting to look like the team that can muster the most away wins over the season will be odds-on to lift the title and the current teams occupying those top two places are setting the pace in that direction. One point separates the next six teams in the table so it will be interesting to see which, if any, emerge to join in the promotion push as the season progresses.
