Veterans League

The opening rounds of the annual Hickson Trophy knock-out competition for veterans teams in Yorkshire took place on Friday. Sheffield being the hosts this year and the Huddersfield team were drawn against their Skipton counterparts. The two teams had met the previous Friday in an Inter-District League match when Skipton ran out 277-261 victors. Different story this time as the 12-man Huddersfield team won 233-187 to progress through to the next round.

At the same time two of the heavyweight teams were meeting with Leeds beating the West Riding team to qualify to meet the Huddersfield team in the next round. That result went the way of the Leeds side where they ran out 226-197 winners. Both the match scores are below along with all the match results from Day 1 of the competition. The semi-finals and Final will be staged in Sheffield next Friday with all the details below.
