Bistro Knock-Out
Hemplow 'B' has been thrown out of the Veterans' League Bistro KO competition for playing two ineligible bowlers. Two bowlers played for the club's 'A' team in the opening round who were beaten by Clayton West and so eliminated. These two bowlers then played for the club's 'B' team in the next round against Almondbury BC 'B' which is against League Match Play Rule h) which says
​h) A member shall not be allowed to bowl for more than one team in any one competition during the season except that a member of a club who has played in the ‘B’ and ‘C’ team may play in the same clubs ‘A’ or ‘B’ team in later rounds.
The 'B' team won their Round 2 tie and so progressed through to Round 3 which is due to be played next Thursday (22nd) but have now been excluded and Almondbury BC 'B' have been reinstated in the competition and the full revised draw is shown below. This also shows that Lindley BC 'A' has withdrawn from the competition providing Marsh United 'A' with a bye through to the Quarter-Finals where they will meet either Clayton West or Golcar Lib 'A'.
