Tomorrow (Thursday 18th) is the final of the Team Knock-Out competition when Golcar Lib 'A' are pitched against Lindley Lib 'A' at Lindley BC with a 1.30pm start time.
Lindley Lib will start as the underdogs as they currently sit in one of the relegation places in the Division 1 table whilst Golcar Lib were top until yesterday when dislodged by Kirkheaton Cons after losing at home to Lockwood Con. Ironically the Golcar Lib team beat both the Lockwood Cons 'A' and 'B' teams to reach this Final. They also beat Marsh United 'A' and Netherton Con 'A' on the way.
The Lindley Lib team beat the Golcar Lib 'B' team in an earlier round along with Paddock I&C as well as two Division 1 sides in Longwood and Meltham 'A'. Lindley Lib are prolific winners in this competition having won it 9 times in total including 4 consecutive years over the Millenium change (1999-2002) and their last win was as recently as 2017. Golcar have won the competition twice before in 2012 and 1995.
The format of this competition is exactly the same as for 10-Man League matches, 4 singles and 3 pairs although the aggregate score determines the winners with the game count only coming into play in the event of a tied aggregate finish.
