The presentation of the Division 9 Champions Trophy will be made prior to the start of matches at Paddock I&C today (Tuesday 27 January).

The top two clash in Division 9 presented the only final day score that could see the 2026 Champions emerging - and we got that 8-0 scorecard against all the odds. Kirkheaton C&BC C started the day two points ahead of long-time leaders Greenhead Park and having lost to the same opponents 2-6 earlier in the season. But any team that has only lost 2 fixtures all season is always going to be a threat and so it proved. Greenhead Park had the same record of only two losses all season but this proved to be the Kirkheaton team's day. They won the three games to 17, 19 and 20 to run out 8-0 winners and an aggregate advantage of 63-56.
The Division 9 Champions Trophy will be presented to Kirkheaton C&BC C prior to the start of the final day of fixtures today.
But the season certainly isn't over for the Greenhead Park team as they still need a minimum of 3 points from their final fixture today against the Kirkheaton C&BC B side to guarantee them promotion. Marsh Lib B could still take the second promotion place but they will need an 8-0 win over Kirkheaton Con C to give them a chance of snatching a second honour away from the Greenhead Park team. Never a dull moment!
Tuesday brings to a conclusion a first season of Winter bowling for 7 of the 8 teams on the unique green that Paddock I&C is best known for. We hope that you have enjoyed the experience and look forward to welcoming you all back next season. However you have the opportunity for one more matchday action on your green after today's final fixture programme.
The Winter Cup is an individual competition covering all 80 teams in the League. Individual bowlers from all 80 teams are eligible to enter and for Division 9 bowlers it all happens next Tuesday (3rd February). We only have three entries from Division 9 team bowlers to date and these exclude any member of a team in the top half of the League. It all takes place on your favourite green here at Paddock.
