Divisions 5 & 6 leaders surge on

Winter League

A review of the Division 5 & 6 matches played on Thursday 23 November

Outlane beat one of their biggest rivals for the Division 5 title when seeing off Slaithwaite by 6-2 to open up a 4-points lead over 2nd placed Springwood C. The Springwood team also had a 6-2 win this time over a Netherton Con team that are adrift at the foot of the table. That defeat for Slaithwaite saw them drop a place to 4th but still within range of the leaders.

Jackson Bridge are the form team in the division and they made it three wins on the bounce with an 8-0 success over Huddersfield Recreation Club B who they now pass in the table as they move up from 7th to 5th position. Mirfield A started the week in 2nd place in the table and finished in 6th position after not having a match this week.

Brockholes B returned to winning ways with a 6-2 win over Almondbury BC B who remain in the second relegation spot.

Division 6 leaders Linthwaite Hall had a convincing 8-0 win over Golcar C&BC to extend their lead to 12 points and become the first team in any division to hit the 50 points barrier for the season. That was aided by the 3rd and 4th placed teams, New Mill C and Huddersfield RUFC, drawing their fixture by 4-4, and by 2nd placed Lockwood Con B having a bye week. Mirfield B stay rooted to the foot of the table after losing 2-6 to Cowcliffe B and their bottom two partner remains Kirkheaton Con B who went down 2-6 to Broad Oak.
