Preview of the Veterans League Divisions 3,4&5 fixtures for today

We have a top two clash in Division 3 this Tuesday when the leaders, Golcar Lib B, travel to play second in the table, New Mill A, and the one-point gap between the two teams will change whatever the outcome of this match. Last year this was a Division 2 fixture with both teams being relegated at the end of last season. Both teams are clearly intent on recovering that status for next season. The New Mill team completed a League double over Tuesday's opponents last season and will be looking to do the same again this year.
Brockholes A sit in third place, exactly the same position they finished their Division 3 season last year when they missed out on promotion by one point. They could be the main beneficiaries of a close result from the top two encounter. They are unbeaten this season to date and have a difficult looking match away to Slaithwaite as the Slawit boys completed a League double over the Brockholes team last year.
Springwood are really struggling this term, losing all four of their fixtures to date. With a home match against a Linthwaite Hall team who are fifth in the table and will be keen to get some points in the bag before a testing set of June fixtures when they play 3 of the top 4 teams in the table.

The top two teams in Division 4 came up a division together last season and continue to stay close as the season progresses and both sit on 25 points. Huddersfield RUBC and Kirkheaton Con B both have home matches this week against Thongsbridge B and Meltham B who both feature in the promotion chase. Marsh Lib A are very much in that picture as well sitting third in the table and the easiest looking fixture this week at home to bottom of the table Lockwood Con B.
Three teams sit on the same 14 point mark, one point above bottom of the table Lockwood Two of those three teams face each other as Ravensknowle Park host Milnsbridge B with the loser likely to find themselves in a relegation place come Tuesday evening. That 2nd drop place is currently reserved for David Brown Sports B who have to travel to play Marsh United B side who have struggled to field a full team recently costing them points away to Huddersfield Recreation Club and an early exit from the Bistro.

Netherton Con A are the leaders of the Division 5 table at present and have to go to play Primrose Hill Lib this week. Second-placed Broad Oak B will be watching for any slip-up from their rivals for the top spot with a 3-points gap between them at present but they have their own problems as they have a home match against Marsh Lib B who have an Aggregate For total that is only bettered by the leaders and makes their current 7th place a little misleading.
The teams in 3rd and 4th places meet up at Holmfirth where Lindley BC B are the visitors and Almondbury BC B will be aiming to collect their first win of the season when they take on Hemplow B at home.
