Review of the results from the Veterans 6-Man League for matches played on Monday 16 June

My holiday means that this report is somewhat curtailed but you need to factor into the latest League Tables two missing results. They are a hangover from the Bowlsnet Computer Disaster. The two missing results are from Divisions 2 and 4 from the May programme.
Missing Results
5 May Division 2 Marsh Lib A v Longwood
26 May Division 4 Shepley B v Clayton West B
Division 1 Review Marsh United A's 5-2 away win at Thongsbridge A was the standout result in the top order of the day as that enabled the Marsh team to stay in the title race behind the long-time leader, Clayton West. The leaders brushed aside the visit of bottom-of-the-table New Mill A with a straight-forward 6-1 home win and a 5-points lead over their two nearest rivals for the title. Waterloo dropped two home points to Milnsbridge A with a 5-2 home win but remain a serious contender for the 2025 Championship title as things begin to hot up between the top three who are opening up a gap ahead of the also-rans. In that chasing pack Slaithwaite beat Shepley A 6-1 to overtake their rivals in the table.

Division 2 Review
A shock first defeat of the season for the Division 2 leaders, Holmfirth A by lower-half of the table Marsh Lib A by 2-5 saw their lead cut to 5-points over Lindley Lib A. A 5-2 home win for the second-placed team over bottom team, Thongsbridge A, will be a little disappointing for them with a great opportunity to close the gap more than the 5-points it currently is. Third-placed Broad Oak remain a major threat to both of the top two with a match in hand over both of their rivals and a 6-1 home win over Paddock I&C in the bank this week.

Division 3 Review
Almondbury Lib continue their assault on the Division 3 title with a 6-1 home win over Greenhead Park A taking their unbeaten record to eight matches and a 16-points lead at the top of the table. Denby Dale and Milnsbridge B are scrapping for the 2nd promotion place and both had comfortable home wins this week with Denby Dale beating Elland C&BC 5-2 and Milnsbridge B overcoming Linthwaite Hall 6-1. Primrose Hill Lib were the only team in the chasing pack to win with a 5-2 home success over Holmfirth B.

Division 4 Review
Marsh United B team beating the Division 4 leaders Hemplow B by 6-1 has rthrown the title and promotion races wide open. The leaders now only have a 3-points lead over Marsh United B whilst third-placed Skel Windmill B are only 6-points off of the top spot with a match in hand. A 1-6 outcome for Netherton Con B at Greenhead Park is a bit of a setback for them but not terminal.
With the Shepley B v Clayton West May result still missing from the table and two key fixtures coming up on Friday and Monday things can still change at the foot of the table.
